XG Station 2 with Asus GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Advanced Edition

Hi,

Has anyone fitted an Asus GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Advanced Edition into a ROG XG Station 2 eGPU? Or for that matter ANY RTX 2080 Ti card?

I notice that it takes up 2.75 slots (in width) and worried that it might not fit.

Secondly, is this card supported with the XG 2 Power Supply (rated at 600w)?

Thanks,

Hi RichCassini

Nvidia recommends a minimum of a 650w psu for the 2080 Ti.

Click the specs.

THanks - so does this mean that the Asus RTX 2080-Ti is NOT supported on the XG Station 2?

Hi Nate152,

650W it's the Recommended System Power, not the Graphics Card Power.

Thermal and Power Specs (2080 Ti) :

Maximum GPU Temperature (in C) : 89
Graphics Card Power (W) : 250/260
Recommended System Power (W) : 650

Knowing that the ROG XG STATION 2 delivers 500W only for the GPU and can also provide 100W more for the laptop, there is largely the power needed (250W/260W) to power the 2080 Ti

Thanks all for your feedback - so I think it will probably work - before I fork out the cash - how can we get Asus to confirm if its supported or not? Is there an Asus support community where they see these threads?
