Hi everyone
Despite my research I did not find a solution to my problem.
System specs :
- Motherboard : Asus Z270-E - CPU : I7 7700K delid - Cooling: NZXT x62 - RAM : Kingston HyperX 2x8GB 3600Mhz (17-18-18-39) - GPU : Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 G1 Gaming - 8 Go - Storage: 1T SSD Samsung 860 Evo Sata 3T Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 SATA 6Gb/s - Power supply : EVGA 750 BQ, 80+ Bronze 750W - OS: Windows 10 PRO - Dual Screen IIyama Prolite XB2380HS (game just on one) - BIOS : 1302
My problem :
When I play it happens more or less regularly that I have freezed games and causes a return to windows. The moments and the duration between freezes are random. (Can happen in the loading screen) I have no worries in windows or other software but just in game and no BSOD screen. Basically I think it's a problem of RAM and XMP profile. I don't have any problems with XMP disabled. My ram is not listed in the QVL of the Z270E Problem is the same with XMP Profile 1 and 2. Under Furmark, 3DMark, PCMark or MemTest64 tests look good.
Do you know how I can fix the problem ? Maybe I have to adjust manualy the RAM setup ?
Well, it could be a few things, I suppose. Keep the overclock and try running a game under minimum graphical setting's. Test to see what happens. Observe if your game is stuttering. What temperature's are you receiving when playing a game for the processor?
Two more questions : When I change for XMP profile, the BIOS ask me if I want to active the "All core enhancement", do I say Yes or No ? With the XMP profile, BIOS also change CPU Core Ratio : Sync all cores to Auto and fix Frequency BCLK to 100, is it ok ?
1) Select No 2) BCLK at 100 is fine, you can change it back to sync all cores and set the cpu core ratio to 45.
Double check the cpu core/cache voltage is not on auto, if it is on auto try cpu core/cache voltage at 1.15v - 1.20v. It won't go below the core VID so you may have to use a negative offset to get the voltage that low.
Try setting the ram manually, this sometimes gives better results.
I tried : CPU VCCIO voltage 1.20v CPU System Agent voltage 1.20v XMP profile 1 RAM : 1.35V
Game crashed
I tried : CPU VCCIO voltage 1.25v CPU System Agent voltage 1.25v XMP profile 1 RAM : 1.35V
Game crashed
Now I set : CPU VCCIO voltage 1.25v CPU System Agent voltage 1.25v XMP manual - 17 - 18 - 18 -39 RAM : 1.40v BCLK : Auto Ratio : ?
At tthe moment I didn't change the CPU core/cache voltage, still on auto. To change it, I need to set 1.15 or 1.20, use negative offset mode and "-" sign ?
Try resetting to defaults (F5), set the AI Overclock Tuner to Manual and set your ram manually.
Try Dram Frequency 3000MHz and slowly work it up.
In DiGi+ set LLC to level 6
Once you get the ram stable then do the cpu, try cpu core/cache voltage at 1.20v. You'll have to do a little math, for example, if you set 1.20v and it's going to 1.245v, you'll use a negative offset of -0.045v.
