Damn nice motherboard, i dont like ATX very much

Gene boards have been awesome in the past, and this one seem to be no exception

Thumbs up ASUS , keep the Gene, MATX can be a significant part of the future

I have had a good few Gene boards and must say right here that they have been some of the best performance boards I have EVER used and this one is no exception I am sure.

Right now I am playing with the Extreme version board, and some nice new ram kits TEAM GROUP XTREEM " 8 Pack EDITION" 16GB that have just been delivered. Many thanks to Team Group and to 8Pack for supplying these memory kits.

The reason I mentioned the memory is because historically I have always been able to get way better and tighter memory settings from the Gene boards. Just why that is I can only guess. Length of trace or complexity of the bigger versions may have something to do with it.

Looking forward to seeing some posts about the Gene. Bring it on I say.

Well, after the shocking disaster of seeing my first Fractal Design Define R6 arrive looking like the delivery truck dropped it down the side of a mountain before delivering it, I finally recieved my replacement today and thankfully its undamaged! I can't wait to build in it. Such a nice case with a lot of customization options.

It's time to switch to Lian Li, my favorite PC Case company.
    But real aluminium Lian Li.

Acessories for my case... aluminium feets, aluminium hdd/ssd mounting bracket, tool free aluminium screws...everything is ready.

I love Lian Li so much, and think they are great PC Cases for ASUS ROG hardware, high class.
Only I'm sad because I couldn't afford Lian Li PC-O8 WX.

Example Lian Li PC-V3000 is now best classic full tower case, and 320$ is affordable price for Americans.

I won't deny that Lian Li makes some really nice cases. In fact i was just looking at the 011 on sale on Newegg the other day lol, but I already got this Fractal Design Define R6 that im ready to build in, and I'm really liking everything about this case thus far.

Ill have to look up that V3000 case you mentioned, just so i can see what a $320 case looks like haha. I've never really had the budget to spend that much on a case! I felt kinda crazy spending $250 on the Corsair Obsidian 500D SE haha, but that case holds some sentimental value to me. And I didn't purchase it during a build lol, I purchased it a couple years after I did my Hero Viii Alpha build.

Patiently waiting for the the XI Gene for my sons build. Looks like I’m going to have to get this from the UK since Asus doesn’t want to sell in the US. I’m really surprised that Asus isn’t making more ITX & MATX boards than ATX & EATX ones. Shouldn’t computers be getting smaller over time needing a smaller motherboard and not the other way around? Nvidia just killed off 3 & 4 way SLI last generation, this generation you can only SLI the RTX 2080 ($800+) and higher. SLI was already the 1% and now it’s the 1% of the 1%. More love/attention on ITX & MATX please Asus.

    Seyumi,
I imagine they make these decisions based on sales, and at this time on Intel's chip shortages, they can't supply enough PCH chipsets much less CPU's which is hurting motherboard sales so tough decisions have to be made
