Unfortunately...I can't do that now...I have the rig completely stripped down...Currently in the process of building a new rig with the 9900k and the Asus Z390 Maximus XI Extreme...other than that...I would have tried what you requested my friend.

Did the experiment and obviously cores 6 and 7 (core numbering starts at 0 on my monitoring software) did less work than the others 6 cores and were 5 to 8 degrees cooler.

So only real difference between the system with all cores enabled and all but two cores enabled was in the TDP when running RealBench.

    All cores x 50 186watts
    6 cores x 50 2 cores at default 180watts.

Not sure what benefit there is in doing this but...

Thanks mate, was just hoping to maybe save a couple degree overall under load and still retain the use of the 2 extra core. Just debating if i should upgrade or not from my i7 8700k.

Upgrade to a 9900K from a 8700K? Honest appraisal is that your gains in performance with the Intel refresh are not worth the cost of what is basically a refreshed CPU. I personally would suggest waiting till the next full generation, and then do a major upgrade, mobo, ram CPU and the whole works.

However if you have the extra dosh laying around and you like to have the newest and latest toys. Go for it my man.
