Finding the right CPU-Cooling

I'm looking for a CPU Cooler.
Environment:
Board: Asus Crosshair Fromula V
CPU: AMD Bulldozer FX-8150
Memory: Corsair Vengeanve 16 GB with "long" heatsinks

Problem 1: Boxed FX8150-CPU Cooler fits, works, but is realy noisy
Problem 2: Arctic Cooling Freezer Extreme Rev. 2 fits, is quiet,
but does not work - "board" shuts down after a few seconds.
(Cooler works without problems on other board)

wanted:
CPU Cooler - fits on board with descripted memory. 12 cm fan, must be quiet!
no water-cooling system wanted
If possible: without backplate installation necessary.

Any suggestions?

V8 Coolermaster.
Crosshair V
FX-8350
16GB Vengeance
2x Gigabyte 6970 OC Windforce

While the Zalman CNPS9900Max does require swapping out the backplate, its nearly silent, doesnt interfere with anything else on the motherboard, and does a good job keeping my FX-8120 cool, even when all 8 cores are at 100% (such as when folding).
You've got your choice of red or blue LED models with the red not being quite as bright. As for the backplate replacement and cooler installation, it goes fairly smoothly as long as you dont try to do it with the motherboard still in the case and you only start each screw and then tighten a couple turns each in an X pattern rather than cranking down one side and then trying to fight the spring clips to start the screws on the other side. Below is a pic of my rig so you can see how the cooler completely clears the other components. 5905

A while ago I found a little good website that is specialized on coolers and everything about keeping computers as cool as posible. They even have a nice top chart for both Intel and AMD.

http://www.frostytech.com/top5heatsinks.cfm

Personally I chose the Thermaltake Frio 2 years ago when it was #2 on the list of AMD coolers and because it matched my cash and planed style at the time.

I hope the information helps you as it did to me!
Mobo: Crosshair Formula V, CPU: AMD FX-8120@4.0GHz, GPU: ATI Radeon HD5850 Stock, HD: Samsung 830 SSD 128GB, Heatsink: Thermaltake Frio, Case: Thermaltake Armor+

If you want to spend the money, Noctua NH-D14, Thermalright Silver Arrow and Phanteks PH-TC14PE are the top air coolers today.
I have a NH-D14. It was easy to mount (no need to mess with a back plate) and is good enough in stock form for moderate overclocking. For more cooling you can put faster (louder) fans on it.
It is also friendly to tall DIMMs because you can mount the intake fan higher if necessary.

I Run The Bulldozer FX-8150 On Crosshair V Formula... This Little Ripper Of A CPU.. Heats Up When OverClocking...

Your Going To Need CPU Water Cooling, To Get Awesome Results In Graphics... The CPU Heats Up The Motherboard If You Don't Use CPU Watercooling Too..
ANTEC Kuhler h20 920 [NOT Universal - Made For AM3+] Is Cheap To Buy & Keeps This CPU Screaming @ Over 5.0 GHz...

The Unit IS Completely Sealed & NO Chance Of Pump Or 120mm Radiator Leaking & It's Quiet...
The 120mm Radiator {If Placed Inside Case], Draws Any Ambient Heat From Tower & Cools It Down Too...

Also agree with NemesisChild! I had also Coolermaster V8. It's one of the best air cooler, but Corsair H80/H100 does a better job.

V8 or h100 i have both and they work great
