Hey everybody I have a Noctua 140mm Tr4 cooler and wanted to get a 3.8-3.9 all core overclock with some low voltages if possible. Also Have a DOCP for 3200mhz memory.

Wondering if anyone could help me in the right direction. I don't over clock much. specs below.

Asus x399 Zenith extreme
Amd 1950x at base clock 3.4ghz no OC
Noctua NH-U14S
32gb Trident z rgb @3200MHz
have 2 970 evo 500gb in raid 0 on the dimm 2 slot
EVGA GTX 1070 SC

Hi streak1232 🙂

Have you got your RAM up too 3200 already?

I guess just keep and eye on temps air cooling. Sure you know to keep it below 68C for Tdie

1.425 is the recommended max vcore but you'll want to keep well below that I guess...best idea is probably input 1.3v manually and try a couple of multipliers...38..39..40 and keep an eagle eye on temps...if 1.3v is toasty back off a bit

Try something like RealBench as a stress test....more holistic and less narrow punishment than P95...kinder on CPU and a better stress test I reckon

I'm kind of presuming you know where to set these things in the BIOS...if not we can throw up some screen shots...:)

yeah I know where it is but two questions here.

When I put my voltage to 1.3 it fluctuates up to 1.48 some times in HW monitor and is never really close to my set voltage why is that?

Also are you using auto or the FID/SID to set clocks? Whats a good bottom number as well?

Thanks

Disable core performance boost maybe...that's the XFR stuff

Then set CPU core ratio...I never use the FID/SID thing...:o...I leave min too the auto rules.

HW monitor isn't really that great an app to use on Ryzen/Threadripper. I'd opt for HWINFO, depending on what UEFI use then AIDA64 can also be OK, otherwise not.

Curious what sorta temps do you get at stock for which load on CPU?
