For some reason it doesn't take my USB as valid "Installation media?"
Does anyone know a way around this?

Can you provide more details?
If you are just trying to get a copy of windows that can be installed from USB then just use the Microsoft media creator tool. Ifr that fails then format drive, make sure its formatted Fat32. If it still fails try a clean drive. Doesnt take much. I buy the 8GB drives by the dozen for work (customer handouts). SanDisk Cruzer does the trick. Ive got a collection of them in my desk drawer with every copy of windows back to 98.

I am assuming you have used the Windows downloaded tool.
All I can suggest is this, reset your bios to defaults. Remove from the motherboard all hard drives except the one you want the OS to be installed to.
Power up with the Windows USB in the I/O panel USB port.
F8 to select bood device and select your USB drive.
Follow instructions. There is nothing much else needed. To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.
