G751JY-DH73-CA - Upgrade help - M.2 SSD 256GB to 500GB

HI All,

I've spent the weekend researching on these forums if its possible to upgrade the 256GM Samsung M2. SSD (MZHPU256HCGL-00005) to a newer 500GB M.2 drive? The second standard 1TB drive is easily replaced with a standard 2.5inch SSD drive no issue there.

As far as I can tell there are two interfaces for the M2. SATAIII and PCIe, correct me if I am wrong, but the Samsung in my machine is PCIe. Or does that matter? My laptop has the latest BIOS revision 211 (board replaced in the last year), running Win10. Usually I would figure this out, but have noticed at times information saying there is no need to modify the BIOS, and some saying you must modify to add NvME support. Can someone give me a rundown of what my options are? Point me in the right direction.

The options I am looking at for the M.2 upgrade are (My budget is CAD$100 - CAD$150):

Crucial P1 500GB 3D NAND NVMe PCIe

Crucial MX500 500GB 3D NAND SATA M.2 (Interface incorrect?)

Samsung 860 EVO M.2 500GB Internal SSD (Interface incorrect?)

ADATA XPG SX7000 M.2 2280 512GB PCIe Gen3x4 SSD

Any advice, direction, straight-up how to do this, or product reccomendations are welcome. I am sure there there is no better resource than to ask here.

Laptop specs >here<.

Thanks!
