    Generally, the higher core counts (12 and above) run cooler than the 10 core part due to the larger die size. Can only imagine you had a bad apple, or there were other factors at play.

    Here is my latest readings using Prime95 (Blend Test/AVX), and it's pushing around 316 watts (YIKES). Isn't there a rule of thumb
    not to double the factory TDP ?? (i9-7940x /165 watts) In my case it would be 330 watts. All cores in this test were at 4.3Ghz

    I had the same problems. The original IHS was not flat so i did a delid and replaced IHS with a copper IHS and applied liquid metal. Temps are even now. Im using the same cooler btw.

    Thanks, that's interesting, do you have a part number for your copper IHS ?... Actually, I'm fine with my temps. I'm never
    going to run full load AVX with prime 95, or even OCCT. Most full load software I use only pulls around 210 watts, if that.
