Mixed refresh rate dual monitor setup with PG279Q

Hi guys, recently updated to a PG279Q and kept my old Dell U2414H around as a second monitor for a dual monitor setup. Was wondering as far as refresh rate should I leave it in 144Hz mode? I have been setting it to 120 after reading that mixing refresh rates can cause faster refresh rate monitors to kick down to 60 but that setting it to a multiple (like 120) should prevent it. I'm not sure it matters anyway since I have GSync on and most games I'm playing never hit much over 100fps anyway. (4790K + 1070 is either not capable or I've limited the FPS in some games) My understand is GSync is then changing the refresh rate to match whatever FPS I'm getting. Sorry if this was a total noob question but it's my first >60Hz monitor and first GSync/etc. capable one.
