Hello mate,
the only tip I would give you is have no other drives connected when you install the OS. Windows has a nasty habit of putting its required partitions in the strangest places and not where we would expect them to be, like say on the OS drive. LOL
Other than that it is a pretty straight forward process. Yes update BIOS if you want to, but if your system is doing what you need it to do then why change?
