G20 Upgraded with ASUS RTX 2080 Turbo
Might be helpful so I share it here. I replaced my GTX 1080ti FE 2-weeks ago with Asus RTX 2080 Turbo, it works perfectly with 180+230w bricks, no jumper switch needed.
In my country this Asus card is really overpriced, it`s around $1200 USD for ASUS RTX 2080 Turbo and $1700 USD for 2080 Ti Turbo, planned to buy the Ti before but I am not sure RTX 2080 Ti will be 100% stable in my G20ci, so I decided to get the non Ti .
Tear it Down to replace the thermal Paste
It`s Binned A chip inside, although this turbo is non OC version.
Fit perfectly
Manage to OCed this card manualy(not with oc scanner) +200mhz Core and +1000mhz Mem for benchmark test (but for daily used I only used +200mhz core and +500mhz Mem)
3Dmark Timespy Extreme Score: (10% higher score than Oced GTX 1080Ti)
https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/30311798
The Conclusion is, the GPU of ASUS ROG G20(that comes with 2 bricks 180+230w) can be upgrade to RTX 2080, but You need to buy the Blower Cooling version like Asus RTX 2080 Turbo, non blower cooling won`t be able to run well with G20. How about Founder Edition RTX 2080? it won`t work, I mean it can run but your GPU and system surely overheated.Last edited by spartan_hoplite; 03-02-2019 at 11:30 AM.

This is very cool.
From first moment I liked ASUS RTX2080/Ti Turbo.
Damn you beat my Graphic score...I will back with watercooling, and 30MHz higher boost.
GTX1080Ti need 250W, GTX1080 below 200W, arround 180W I think and RTX2080 I'm not sure, something between I believe.
Is it hot that small power supply brick?
I never asked for such things, but some guys who bought previous generation of GPU got few serial numbers for 3DMark Advanced.
If someone not need serial and don't know what to do maybe want to share with me, I want to legalize my score.
I could only Basic, Extreme is not valid because no serial.
Example if someone both 3 graphic cards for 3Way SLI and serial is in every box.

Only my main score would be higher, this with CPU clock on default frequency from testing of Poseidon.
I wanted to test GPU only properly and for that I need default clock of CPU and memory.
But anyway your GPU Score is 500 points higher.
No doubt RTX2080 Turbo stronger than GTX1080Ti Poseidon... hmmm. But with +200MHz and +500MHz Memory.
That explain everything.
I must be honest... I wish one RTX Turbo.
But not only because card, I want to open her, install new thermal pads, new paste, install Heatkiller IV block than to check what BIOS Tools offer me. Maybe there is a some option to customers re-design BIOS to work on same way as Founders Edition, higher base and boost clock without OC in software.
I believe customers will be happy to know A version graphic processor is inside.

RTX2080 is 10% stronger in Time Spy, check your graphic score, not the total score, your total score can par with my system because you have a faster CPU.
RTX2080 max TDP is 215watt, the bricks(180+230watt) can handle it perfectly.
I have extra serials of 3dmarks advance, i can send you by pm.

Is the 2080 not a step down from the 1080Ti?

Samples missing on that graph.
Ive seen it showing the 2080 lagging a bit with about the only advantage being lower power consumption with a good bit of comparisons saying this card is not worth the upgrade unless the need to have the newest card is overwhelming.
It loses out by a little here
https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compar...-Ti/4026vs3918
My scores are lacking a bit. Fresh driver install and no OC
Kudos on Jamming that card in your case!! I almost went that route some time ago. Nice small towers.Last edited by JustinThyme; 11-25-2018 at 04:12 PM.

How much off a difference did changing out the TIM make? Do you have before/after temperatures?
I'm curious to see what your temps are.
Currently running a 1080TI, as a new 2080 costs over 2x the cost of a used 1080TI.
