Memory Timings for 2X8Gb

Hello all.

I just build a new PC with the Crosshair VII WIFI. However i run into a problem with my memory:
G.Skill Ripjaws V 2x8Gb | F4-3200C16D-16GVKB
Only 1 Dimm is visible in Bios though i can see both if i check the banks manually in Bios.
On Windows it says 16Gb /7.8 usable.
Bios version is 8040. IF i upgrade it to 1002 PC will not even start with 2 Dimms slotted
They are slotted at A2 and B2 (A1 is not reachable due to cooler used.)
Default sets the memory to 2400 at 1.2v

My question is: does anybody know what timings to use to get both Ram modules working?

Due to training issue I believe you are seeing half the RAM in OS. You should find on memory page of task manager, ~8GB is shown as hardware reserved.

If you select D.O.C.P on Ai Overclock Tuner setting of Extreme Tweaker page it should set the RAM using the XMP profile and 1.35V.

I Am now considering to replace this memory with: Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 because of my Fan height (Dark Rock 4) will this memory work on the Crosshair VII with a Ryzen 2700X?

And as a reply to the post before this, yes thats exactly whats happening 8 GB is shown as hardware reserved.

I doubt if that kit would be Samsung B die.

Your best bet is to use this search engine (link) and purchase a kit of at least 3400MHz to have Samsung B die.

Usually on the LPX Vengence packaging you can see the label for RAM kit, if it has v4.31 then it is Samsung.

Ok setting D.O.C.P results in 1 module vissible second module, still doesnt work at reboot 3beeps them reboot 1 other beep and then it goes back to default settings.

Edit: ok i just checked the memory seems its Hynix aparantly this set could have been either Samsung b-die or Hynix seems i have bad luck

Edit2: still very strange i can only get 1 stick to work not both at the same time

Edit3: i only need 2x8 most in that link are higher and taller then can fit under my cooler. Also most of the 2x8 sets are not available in my country...

Yeah Corsair kits can be differing RAM ICs.

The 3 beeps, reboot and 1 beep, would also show Q-Code: F9, definitely memory is not training then.

There is a new beta UEFI 1103, perhaps try that, link.

I see that most of the b-die corsair memory is cl18 would that be an issue?
I am also very reluctant to try a beta bios on a brand new board.
The issue is indeed like you said F9

If you want your ram to just work, get the CAS 14 Flare X. F4-3200C14D-16GFX

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232530

After I blew $220 on 3600 ddr4, you begin to realize that it ain't worth it. It's what Asus's profiles are built on.

Isnt that memory the same height as the vengeance? Giving me problems with the cooler if I want to expand to 4 dimms in the future?

I had a similar experience to you with Hynix ram. I was never able to get dule channel to work. Once I got some Samsungs bang no problem it just worked.
