Hello guys.

Could you please help me with installation of Windows 10 on NVMe M.2 SSD.

My setup:
Asus Rog Strix B360-I Gaming
Samsung 970 EVO NVMe M.2

I can't install Windows 10.

I tried with no luck:

  • a lot of BIOS options combinations
  • clean RAW SSD
  • GPT parted SSD
  • different Windows 10 versions from MS website
  • update motherboard firmware
  • clear CMOS

Windows installer runs, but unbale to find my SSD and stuck there:
77253

The strange thing that if i press Shift+F10 during installation and run DISKPART, I can see my SSD in DISKPART.

Help me please. I spent couple of days trying different workarounds and have no luck.

Finally I made this work!

The problem was with USB media.

I used different tools to write Windows ISO to USB and during installation diskpart determine media filesystem as RAW and Windows installer was unable to read it. (Yeah, it could start from it but was unable to read it after 🙂 )

So I decided to create media by manually.

As I use Linux on my laptop I used following manual steps to prepare usb and copy installation files on it.

Here is a link: https://www.plop.at/en/winusbinstall.html

I went with NTFS partitions.

Using this media and default BIOS settings I succeeded with Windows 10 installation.
