Can you please share the BIOS you are using right now? I can not find the BIOS you are referring in page 7. I can only see the 1503.

I got lost having a hard time following a language barrier.

A damn headache to be honest.

The Spectre can be disabled in Windows, not in the bios

Basically you have to do a full upgrade of your BIOS to 1603 FROM something else. It didn't work for me doing the modded BIOS directly from 1603 the first time so I downgraded to 1503, booted into Wndows, upgraded to the Asus 1603, booted into windows and let windows update. There were several files that it did update including bluetooth, ect.

Then I downloaded the top link one since I like to run without the Spectre patch. If you want to run with the Spectre patch, use the second one. The purpose of this mod it to change the microcode back to 49h or 55 (depending on the download) which seems to have better temp control than the 4D version that Asus gave us.

NOTE this is just how I did it. If you mess up you are on your own. Your mileage may vary.

In the end Justin I was able to get 5.1 on my 7900x using Aida 64 non-avx. It runs at 1.27 v which is more warm that I want to turn it daily but it handled a couple hours there. Originally by Siclicone lottery it was rated at a 4.8 chip but they use a simple AIO cooler, so I have a little head way there. I also tend to do my OCs in the winter as the ambient temp in the house is 5-8 degrees lower.

I still can only finish Realbench at 4.9, can't quite crack the 5.0 mark. Scored 224,000. As you said upload hasn't worked in a while so whatevs.

Another one taking the plunge, went *with moded 1603 posted by*TISTOU77, microcode 49 . Temps are identical to 1503 with microcode 43 which are about 4-6 lower than original 1603 .. great job

Yeah I'm not seeing any major increases in power, I was always able to hit 5.0 with this chip and it was always hot doing so but with this mod it helped temps by about 5 degrees so a little clearance. Still too hot to run it 24/7 for me. Even at idle 43C is a bit much. I prefer temps down in the lower 30s. I might see what 4.9 looks like and if it can be stable with just a touch more power.

Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this issue. Since I have updated my BIOS with the modded code, it seems that my "speedstep" technology that allows my CPU to scale downward in voltage when not under load seems not to be working. The power delivery is set to balanced and speedstep is enabled in the BIOS but for whatever reason the voltage and the CPU max frequency is always at 4.8Ghz. Anyone else seeing this issue?

If not I'm not sure what is happening. I used adaptive in BIOS and normally haven't had this issue. I'm going to try my other BIOS with the normal 1603 BIOS and see if is truly the cause. BRB!

**EDIT welp something has changed withing WIndows 10. It used to be that Balanced power management ... For whatever reason the minimum power setting was changed to 100% rather than down to 5% as it used to be. It is fixed but not sure why this happened. I never made the change.
