Jesus Asus! After updating to 1603 my High Amp Fan header does not respond to anything in Q-Fan - I have 9 Corsair ML140 Pros spinning like crazy at full speed now....
It was working fine with a nice smooth curve tied to water temperature for the last 9 months....
Anyone else experiencing this?Asus Rampage VI Extreme | i9-7940X | 64GB Trident Z RGB 3600 | Asus Strix 1080Ti OC | Samsung 960 Pro 512GB | WD Gold 10TB | WD Red 4TB X 2 | PSU Corsair AX1500i | Custom Water Loop - RAD MO-RA3 420 Pro | EK Monoblock | Phanteks GPU Block | Heatkiller 200 Tube RES | EK Dual D5 Revo Pumps | 9 X Corsair ML 140 Pro Fans on RAD | | Bitspower Fittings Black Chrome | Cooler Master Cosmos 2 Modded Case | Silent WIngs 3 120mm Intake |

No fan problems at all. Mine run nice and smooth with slow ramps up and down even with a very tight window of Max 32C on the liquid temp.
Oh crap wait! Thats because I ditched MOBO fan control from launch day and use an aquaero 6 Pro with 11 ML120s, 8 LL 120s 1 LL 140. May add two more LL 140s if I decide to put this 280 Rad back in, Only took it out with hopes of going vertical with GPUs but seeing how there are no 2 slot Nvlink bridges thats not happening so may as well enjoy the added capacity.

Well it was working fine with all my 17 Fans (15 PWM) + water pumps and the Fan Extension Card + Sensors with up to BIOS 1301....but of course when it comes to Asus software there most be some form of "cancer" that slowly destroys everything slowly....they just could not leave Q-Fan alone.
Supposedly this motherboard comes with extra features for water cooling and fan control that no other motherboard has.....well in theory since neither Fan Expert works (removed it on Day 1) and now Q-Fan.
I use an external RAD (MO-RA3 420) and had 9X Corsair ML140 Pros on the High Amp header all this time working fine in PWM mode.......well not anymore...tried 1603 no control at all, not even in DC mode. It is working now in DC mode with BIOS 1503 (microcode 49 thanks to titsou) but if you touch the High Amp header settings after calibration the whole curve goes to hell...
Anyway, I will ditch Q-Fan eventually as I have ditched every single other software feature that comes from Asus. (Aura is erratic as well)
The Aquaero is of course the best out there and I might as well test its lighting abilities since Aura is poor and unreliable too.
I just hoped that I would avoid using yet another piece of hardware + software when I bought the RVIE.
I think it's time to order an Aquaero now that I am going to do the delid and bare die cooling testing along with the other upgrades in the loop....and then enjoy the convenience of fine tuning the fans without reboots.Asus Rampage VI Extreme | i9-7940X | 64GB Trident Z RGB 3600 | Asus Strix 1080Ti OC | Samsung 960 Pro 512GB | WD Gold 10TB | WD Red 4TB X 2 | PSU Corsair AX1500i | Custom Water Loop - RAD MO-RA3 420 Pro | EK Monoblock | Phanteks GPU Block | Heatkiller 200 Tube RES | EK Dual D5 Revo Pumps | 9 X Corsair ML 140 Pro Fans on RAD | | Bitspower Fittings Black Chrome | Cooler Master Cosmos 2 Modded Case | Silent WIngs 3 120mm Intake |

I went to corsair for lighting and just leave the default on the MOBO as nothing will control it.
ASUS makes some fine hardware but those two guys locked in a padded room responsible for all the software and firmware for every product ASUS makes need a coffee machine......bump that ESPRESSO and some daylight now and then.
Love the hardware, been using it for longer than I an remember but do remember the software has never been reliable for anything.

Agreed and after all these years I abandoned hope....
(LOL about the two-people Asus software team but it's true - it takes them forever to do anything and bugs never go away)
I'll get an Aquaero XT in my next shipment from Caseking (awaiting for some stuff to get back in stock) and and be done with it.....although I am also planning to get a second MO-RA 420 Pro and after this there won't be any need for fan control on the radiators......One setting only ---- Ultra low or even passive on low loads....Asus Rampage VI Extreme | i9-7940X | 64GB Trident Z RGB 3600 | Asus Strix 1080Ti OC | Samsung 960 Pro 512GB | WD Gold 10TB | WD Red 4TB X 2 | PSU Corsair AX1500i | Custom Water Loop - RAD MO-RA3 420 Pro | EK Monoblock | Phanteks GPU Block | Heatkiller 200 Tube RES | EK Dual D5 Revo Pumps | 9 X Corsair ML 140 Pro Fans on RAD | | Bitspower Fittings Black Chrome | Cooler Master Cosmos 2 Modded Case | Silent WIngs 3 120mm Intake |
