E3 seems a bit too far.
I've given up on waiting. The pc I built in 2012 is starting to show its age, I'm going to put my money towards building a new PC this year instead of getting a new monitor. Hopefully next year or the year after consumers will have more options and be able to purchase a 1440p UW with FALD, HDR, 144hz, VRR without RGB lighting, LED projected logos and DAC's/Speakers at a more reasonable price tag.

For anyone still interested here's somewhat of an update:

The AU Optronics VA panel being used for these two displays has apparently gone in to mass production as of Q3 2018, according to the latest information we have. Acer have told us that they expect their X35 model to be landing around July time. We have not had a firm indication from Asus on their PG35VQ but we wouldn’t be surprised to see it slightly earlier. The price is no doubt going to be extremely high, like the 27″ PG27UQ / X27 were, although we do not yet have an official RRP.

Looks like AOC is answering some of our prayers. They are also going to be releasing a monitor (AGON AG353UCG) with the same panel as the X35 and PG35VQ but without the pointless additional features which should mean lower price.

According to a TFT Central Twitter thread the AGON AG353UCG has already been delayed and will most likely be released in Sept/Oct, price range 1800-2200 Euro. They managed to do the TestUFO on this panel and they have confirmed there is "VA blur" but it's quite low. At least when testing at 144hz, going to 200hz the blur gets worse.

They also confirmed that at 200hz you are limited to 8-bit colour depth unless you drop chroma to 4:2:2. This confirms my suspicions regarding the "200hz" being a marketing gimmick, this panel works best at 120hz-144hz.

Finally they also noted that this panel did not appear to have a cooling fan despite the Gsyncv2 module and FALD. If confirmed this could be good news as I have read about the "buzzing" noise from the 27" FALD monitors from last year.

My only confusion with this monitor is why they put a Gsync module in there? that will no doubt bump the cost up by 150-200 Euros when it is no longer needed as Nvidia now supports Freesync.

Looks like the AOC model will be going on sale soon for £1999, before Asus or Acer, lol:

    Cool

Free Sync 2 is garbage compared to G-Sync HDR Ultimate first off.

Gsync HDR is second generation G-Sync

HDR 1000 Nits is very important to PC Gaming its definitely a game changer.

    AOC AGON AG353UCG
    Acer Predator X35
    ASUS ROG SWIFT PG35VQ

Best monitors for 2019....I myself have been waiting for this PG35VQ for 3 years now. I have built a RTX 2080 NVlink RIG too drive this monitor.

All 3 monitors are coming out in Q3 2019

    200Hz
    HDR1000 Nits (HDR10+)
    21:9
    512 Zones
    Display Port 1.4a
    3440x1440 (3K)
    Curved 1800R VA (1ms)
    G-SYNC HDR Ultimate (Second Generation)

Only thing not Kool is the price of €2000. Otherwise perfect

Not sure about any fan? But very possible.

All these people talking about HDR 1000 Nits 200Hz gimmick... But none mention that you need a Nvidia Driver that supports this monitor! Thus it drops to 144Hz standard. Thus all G-Sync monitors need to be supported in Nvidia Drivers.

I have been waiting and Watching every new Nvidia Driver that comes out seeing support for ROG SWIFT PG35VQ monitor...
