Well thats a huge win in my opinion, max framerates was never the issue what you would get is throttling or power limitation in some cases that would drop fps drastically on a frequent base but unless you were dealing with the worst cases like i had to by turning off the boost of cpu by lowering max usage to 99%, your max framerates should be unchanged.
The fact that you get lower temps on the new bios whatsmore playing on an inclined plane as you're adding the cooling pad is the perfect conclusion to a ton of threads on this forum reporting either maxed out rpms of fans on idle for no reason sometimes, or even permanently in the worst cases too, but then you would'nt get thermal issues at all. And then the opposite which was that playing on a tilted plane would result in a faulty internal cooling system that wouldn't allow fans to pick up or in the worst cases just a plain underperforming cooling system.

So I've installed the Bios update, and I can indeed confirm that I have not encountered the framerate issue anymore with the limited testing I have done so far \o/
I'm curious however, in quite a number of games (Planetside 2 most prominently) I see that both CPU and GPU are mostly underutilised, with the GPU hitting about 80% load and fluctuating rapidly, and none of the CPU cores peaked. I have checked my settings and made sure there aren't any fps limits active. Have any of you upgraded to dual channel RAM (mine came with 1x16) and noticed any difference in gaming?
Furthermore, I've noticed something rather peculiar after the Bios update: when idling, it looks like the 1060 rhythmically wakes itself to about 13% load every second, dropping back to 0 right after (in task manager), which I think has deteriorated my battery life quite significantly. Anyone else that noticed this?
Edit: Investigating Afterburner's graphs while running Planetside 2 shows the power limit constantly and rapidly fluctuating between 0 and 1, is this a bad thing?Last edited by DeadFireNL; 01-22-2019 at 01:10 AM.

After hearing so much about bios 307, I finally updated my bios to 307 using the official download and I'm still getting FPS drops when placed on a cooler...
