Does the warranty void sticker still matter?
So, I have a router that is currently not functional. (ports and wireless do not work) I'm pretty sure it is an issue with a bad flash of the firmware. I can open the device up, and flash over the serial port. But, after opening it up I might discover the issue is actually hardware failure.
This would obviously damage the warranty sticker. But, the FTC had notified Asus those warranty stickers are against the law, and had had 30 days to bring their policy in line with the law back in May. So, will Asus still honor warranties, today, if the sticker is damaged? (obviously, a dead lan port from wear and tear would look different from hitting it with a screw driver. I still would not expect Asus to honor the later)

I can't say what ASUS might do should you RMA your device but they certainly cannot say that they will not honour the warranty based on a broken warranty seal.
