Here's what I'm getting https://www.samsung.com/semiconducto...nsumer/970pro/ and does the top right slot where the NVMe drive goes (OR is the top right slot NOT for NVMe - I dont have the board yet) use a different set of lanes?

there are 16 lanes from CPU, usually used for one graphics card in x16 mode or 2 graphics cards in x8 mode + another 24 lanes from PCH for other PCIE cards, SSDs etc
and all boards support NVMe
