It is possible to easily mod your BIOS to add new microcode when it becomes available. Also, new microcode can be loaded by windows at startup. Microsoft updates microcode through this mechanism from time to time.
Oh ok thanks. Is that something we'd know occurred via Windows update? Like i could view in my "update history" or is it more tucked away in update notes that aren't obvious? I could've swore the notes for 1801 reference microcode but maybe I was misreading. Thanks

No. I think you should roll back to 1401. :-)

On a more meaningful note: as a value hawk, I'll tip my hat to your kit -nice 1801 Aida score you have there.. We probably have the same Ic's but I likely paid a little more.

    Hi Bass:
the 5.0/46 4133 - something like mid to high 1.2's vcco and sa, ram at 1.4
    the 5.2/48 3866 - something like low 1.3's vcco/sa with dimm also at 1.4
the 5.2/48 4266 - mid to high 1.3's vcco/sa with the dimms at 1.5 ....i can also do 4300 52/48 with the vcco/sa in the hi 1.30's at 1.5 with dimms

With regard to the latency: I think the 1801 comes with about 1.5 to 2ns overhead. I'm also getting some latency tail wind with the Apex board ....my guess? somewhere in the 1.5 to 2ns range.

My timings -post later if needed, are Raj's 4133 mem timings that come with the Apex. Interestingly enough, I think your memory performance is better than mine. I tested 1801 51/47 4000 c17-19-19-39 and have to report that your read speed is darn near a gig better than my score ...your score did take about 2ns longer, though. We'll test your posted timings later. Thanks!

pretty good looking scores there !

when i seen your vcssa / vccio i spit in my coffee cup lmao
1.37 v vccio / 1,4c vcssa thats pretty darn high isnt it ?

what can you get away with @ 1.21v vccio / 1.21v vcssa ?

could you post your 4000 - 4133 mem tweak it page showing memory full timings sheet ? like your 2nds 3rds and rtls ect ?

i will be trying bios 1401 again tommrow and see if i can get a lil better but you can only ask for so much out of a 3000 cl-14 kit

    LOL
Yeah, I was having some issues with saved bios settings yesteday (overwriting good profiles with bad ...did it to two profiles) , so I had to scrambe from scratch. Although, I'm begining to think that 1.4 might be the new norm in the not so distant future. ....and with all due respect to AC/DC ....the machine is a power load. :-)

Sorry to be a lurker but, what's the best bios at the moment? Apparently 1401 is the best from what i read in these comments.
