I heard flow meters could cause problems. Thought about getting one, but heard it disrupts flow.

Nice! Have you tried bitspower? Is it easy to take apart and clean?

Yeah I have one of those to but it's fairly large once you screw the fittings in, so it was to large for my current loop, the reason I pick this one up was because the extenders can removed and the fitting screwed directly into the flow meter.

Flow meter or flow indicator. Distinct difference. Bitspower does cause restriction, I have one I will give away for free, total POS. Has inserts you have to put in it in order for it to work, makes a clicking racket that even my deaf ears can hear and binds up too.

Want a Flow Meter, not a cute wheel that goes roundy roundy there are two I can recommend.

Aqua computer makes one but it needs an adapter cable thats like mini molex to 3 pin fan. Solid and it works. Puts out a pulse rpm signal that controllers use and can be plugged into the mobo header if you wish. I used it on my last build.

    https://www.amazon.com/Aquacomputer-.../dp/B002NZOZZG

Barrowch makes one with an OLED display. This is what Im using now. It also can be plugged into a mobo header, I have mine plugged into my aquaero controller. Gives feedback on pumps output. Then I can glance at the window in my case and see what the flow rate is too. I have a matching temp indicator as well.

    http://www.performance-pcs.com/barro...led-black.html

Both of these are nicely made and not a hamster wheel that binds up, pulsates and restricts flow and makes noise. They give a feedback that measures your actual flow so you can identify problems from pump failing or restrictions that form in the loop.....aka......gunk. I put in an inline filter with this build to collect any floaties so they dont end up in my blocks. These can also be put on the CPU fan header for a failsafe. Like I said mine ggoes to my aquaero controller that has a seperate tach output to go to the CPU fan header. Pump fails or lose flow and machine shuts down.

With this I can see I'm getting 6.80 L/min or 408 l/hr which is excellent flow from 2 D5 pumps in serial using a bitspower top.
Bottom left shows how long its been running in hours and bottom right is total flow during that time. Top left is self explanatory and D10 number is anyones guess, mine is a revision # as it doesnt change.

There the same thing lol Flow Indicator vs meter mate, and if I wanted a huge ass digital one ill buy a Thermaltake Pacific TF1 which has temp as well, I just want a basic small spinner thats all i need to check my flow also never heard mine making any sound so maybe yours was shoot, I know that the Bitspower has small plastic rings that sit each end hardly affects flow.

Errrr no.....they are not at all the same thing...Please read again Justin's post since there is no point in explaining it again - he covers it all.

In the PC sector theres confusion around this subject so these names are tossed around between both so that statement is invalid, here is one example both are called indicators when one is clearly a meter, this is my point so don't buy crap just going off its name.

Just because some vendors are not educated very well doesn't change anything. That's like saying watching the trees go by out the window of your car is the same as a speedometer. One indicates movement, the other measures it.

    Flow indicator= simple hamster wheel.
Flow meter = measurement of actual flow

If you just want to see the hamster wheel moving then who is to argue your preference. Me, I want to know how much flow is actually happening as with a visual hamster wheel only that binds up and has jerky movement (they all do sooner or later) I cant tell if I'm pumping 5L/Hr or 500L/Hr. I bought the bitspower that is a flowmeter and has an output, still have it sitting on a shelf as a reminder of what not to do. To get it to move it takes and insert that chokes down the flow to create high pressure to get the hamster wheel to move. With the orifice out, the wheel doesnt move. With it in there is more flow from a gnats butt hole. The orifice chokes it down to less than half of a G1/4 fitting.

I always as a rule of thumb check product specs to make sure there are no mistakes or marketing fluff because that happens a lot with everything. If its still not clear Ill contact the vendor before making the purchase and nail them down to guaranteeing what they have listed. Ive had some tell me they dont have the item and cant inspect it so they cant guarantee anything......so guess who doesn't get my business. If you cant stand behind what you sell, at least what its sold as then I refer to that as scamming.

As for huge as digital display, I just took a close photo for clarity. Its much smaller than the TT meter you referenced about 2 1/4 inches long and 1 1/4 wide, not much different from the Rock you referenced at 1.5x1.5 inches and the build is far better than the TT. The Barrow has an aluminium front plate and POM body where TT is all ABS plastic.

No one is questioning your preference, just stating that the Rock is not a flow meter more for clarification of someone else that might look and think that based on your post that it is.

I will say that the rock will not restrict flow like the bitspower does as from I can see there are no orifices.
