To monoblock or not to monoblock?

The difference is that nickel will not absorb Gallium (aka. liquid metal) copper will. it hardens abit as well when used with copper.

Thank you, I have read that but I believe gallium is a constant in LM, its the amount added that dictates the level of absorption. I used Thermal Grizzly and my copper IHS showed the process starting after a week on the die. Just my experience. As far as heat increase over time I can not say (have 9920X now), believe it mentioned in one article that it can be over a year before you would notice. I am interested to hear how it works longer term .

They only make copper IHS's if you want it nickel plated you will have to do that your self or take it to a shop which does it.

I don't use Thermal Grizzly I used the stuff they recommend, I don't care about stains as long as performance stays the same I'm happy.

I can't imagine why the makers of that copper IHS couldn't/wouldn't make a nickle one. Shouldn't be that hard to mill using the same mold.

Or maybe Ek will do it! Someone should It really is a 'must need' for anyone delidding and wanting it cooled with any type of monoblock or regular block that has to deal with the space lost in the delidding process.

They have been making custom IHS's for years and there all copper that's not about to change, not sure what plating costs but mite be worth looking at.
