After finally ditching the monoblock and going with Direct Die cooling + an EK Velocity my temps are better than ever and I get 14 Cores @ 4.8Ghz

These are LOAD temps on continuous loops of Cinebench R20. During normal usage or gaming they are much lower.

The contact of the Direct Die is good for you ?
I saw Direct Die mounting, the temperature difference between the cores was ~8° in load (with 18 cores), you got more than 20°
That's why I gave up the Direct Die, too much difference between the cores due to bad mounting (bad contact)
    Sorry for my english

It does not matter! What matters is that the worst contact "cores" don't hit bad temps ON Extreme load....those same cores would be way hotter with the IHS on this overclock. It is running 4.8GHz ALL cores after all.

The fact that most of my cores are REALLY low is a bonus...temp difference is not bad and in no way effects operation.
Without direct die this would not be possible.

It took me more than 30 efforts of mounting the block & frame to get it right but eventually it is working.

The problem is that the frame is not a really good design due to the way it use the screws (filmsy) along with the thick soft pads at the back. I think the ICE MAN frame (yes the Chinese) is better and heard good feedback from other users on how much easier it is to level compared to der8bauer's.

I can even do 14X47 without AVX offset (not AVX512) and completed Real Bench 3 hours with even lower temps than those above.

If you want to try it again get the ICEMAN version but for now you got the custom IHS to try so you will be busy with this. I might also get the ICEMAN frame too.

I sold my Direct Die, the particularity of Direct Die is to have lower temperatures and a small difference between the cores
When there is more than 12, 15° between the cores, it is due to a bad mounting, An Overclocker (Wizerty, if I have good memory) had made several tests, and at the beginning it was 15, 20° difference, and with a good mounting, he had ~ 8°

With the original IHS, I have less difference, but surely with the ICeman, mounting is easier
I will test the IHS Copper / Nickel
    Sorry for my english

The difference is irrelevant however if no core hits dangerous temps...the worst cores are your ceiling and in my case this ceiling is fine. Inittially, 4 cores were hitting 104C on Prime 95 or Cinebench R20 (multi loops).

For example if 10 of my core are @ 20C and 4 are at 60C who cares? It has no effect on anything. The only thing that matters is that with the direct die I have the best clocks and NOT a single core in dangerous temps. Yes, ideally all cores would make perfect contact but you can't imagine how many times I tried in order to achieve this. Less difference and higher PEAK temps do not allow me to reach these clocks on all cores.

Simply put I can't have 14 cores @ 4.8GHZ with the IHS with not a single core reaching dangerous temps. I can't have 14 Cores @ 4.7GHZ with NO AVX offset and not a single core exceeding 83C.

Even like this, because of the fact that that most of the cores make perfect contact the overall temp of the CPU goes down. During normal usage my temps are ridiculously low for an overclocked 14 core CPU.

The die is not flat (tested that and varies from die to die). The frame is a gamble to make 100% parallel and the block...well it does not spin with the 2066 jet plate as we discussed in another thread.

But if I was going to do it again, I would get the ICEMAN frame...maybe I have to if this does not last and the LM moves and deteriorates.

I looking forward to your results with the nickel IHS...who knows I might have to buy this too.
