2x Samsung 970 Pro 1To (NVMe) in RAID 0 less good than without raid...?

Hello all

I just bought 2 NVMe Samsung 970 Pro 1 To to make an raid 0 on the Asus Maximus XI Extreme (chipset Z390) last drivers (i let the original RST OROM, i just update the Intel ME Firmware to the 1,5Mo v12.0.10.1127).

I fault by doing this raid 0 i will have a better speed... But it worst than an 1 970 Pro alone without raid...

like you see here they make an test of the 970 Pro (version 512Go):

https://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/sa...-review,15.html

except for the write Seq Q32T1 i have a very bad speed compare to the non Raid 970 Pro...

my setting an bench (sorry for the french):

the manual of my motherboard show that : (i am little lost about, wich option is connected with the cpu or chipset and if it is the reason of my speed problem...)I make many test in a cold computer or runing since 1 hour, is a fresh windows 10 pro with all last drivers and last bios 0602 (except the RST OROM)

Did you disabled c-states in BIOS?
Did you set Windows 10 to Highperformance mode on energie options?

hmm is the dmi on z390 still limited to PCI-E x4 aka 4000mb/s?

hi

yes c-states disabled

yes windows 10 high performence mode

the rest i dont know, i dont except that after all the money i send on the motherboard, the 9900k and the 2 970 pro of 1To.... i am very sad. i hope is a solution becaue is no sence to be in raid 0 if 1 970 pro have better speed (i dont test it but watching the different bench)

High performance power preset affects storage speed?

There's 0 sense in raiding an nvme drive, in any shape or form. The max speed an nvme drive can deliver already maxes out the lane bandwith. Read spead in general will increase, but write speed will in most cases DECREASE.

dear Ch3vr0n why you said that ?...

NVMe in raid 0 strip 64 or 128ko deliver gain...

for exemple :

Guitarmageddon888 for energy saving who will probably not let max perf

Would be nice to at least check before making such claims.
For example: https://www.eteknix.com/year-nvme-raid-0-real-world-setup/6/

yeah and the only thing a human does all day is run performance benchmarks or check how fast 1 file opens 1 moment, and again 5 seconds later. Or compare how fast & file compresses on 2 different occasions. For normal use the average user will notice ZERO difference between raid and non-raid. There's a time when you hit diminishing returns. In fact when i moved my boot from an 850 EVO 2.5" sata to a 960 Pro nvme, can't say i noticed any difference.

That's coming from personal experience.

@Deepcuts every one can make an mistake ^^

Do you have please any solution to my problem ? is realy strange as we can see on my scree the 970 pro perform better alone than in my raid of 2 970 pro... i see crazy speed in other post with NVMe Raid 0... 😕

@Ch3vr0n

thank you for your personal return experience but here is not the subject and this dosent help me.. please understand, happy christmas man 😉
