I've had major issues with this laptop and the GPU. Is so unstable, fps drops, gpu throttling. I have made several youtube video's showing my issues. My laptop was even returned to HIDevolution (who I bought it from). Asus sent them a new MOBO and they installed it and sent it back to me....Guess what, the issue's continue. I have an un-released bios (3.06) that helped dampen the issues slightly but they still continue.......now my GPU throttles then my gpu clock suffers greatly but actually stays steady around 1300mhz allowing me to play at a gimped rate. Flashing back to 3.04 causing major constant fps up/down so that's not a fix. Maybe there is a 3.07 or 3.08 thats unreleased????? We need a fix. I paid $2800 CAD for this laptop (with upgrades/liquid metal repaste etc).

have you tried undervolting the CPU? i've gone from lag city (like steady 80~ fps to 22 fps per 10 seconds to almost none) with just making sure the CPU not throttling like nuts. Also, did you get the Crash Dump Issue? https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?106137-GL504GS-Nahimic-Service-(audio-drivers)-and-clipboa... < that one also killed a lot of the smoothness in game, although after nuking the services, i now have intermittently no audio, needing a restart to fix that.

also, for The Witcher, i find that playing with RTSS will deliver smoother play experience ( https://www.pcgamer.com/durantes-witcher-3-analysis-the-alchemy-of-smoothness/ )

...however I won't have to deal with this too much longer. I pity the poor ******* who buys it off me. Last asus laptop I ever buy!

yeah, i feel you.. i used up my yearly bonus to buy this, thinking it would be a nice upgrade over my old MSI laptop.. but this machine has been a challenge even from day one, though i don't have the luxury of selling it just yet. quite disappointing from ASUS, and one with a LOT of gleaming reviews too..

also, did you notice weird noises when the laptop is idle and plugged in?
