Current latest micro code update from Intel is 2E, can be seen from here:

    https://www.intel.com/content/dam/ww...e-guidance.pdf

Current latest micro code update from Microsoft is also 2E,

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...rocode-updates

So 2E micro code BIOS should be fine for now, as long as Intel does not push out another round of Micro code updates

OC works fine for me, with my 6950X on Win10 1809. But not if combined with the KB4465065 microcode update issued by Microsoft, which updgrades the microcode to 2E. However - KB4465065 doesn't automatically install. You have to throw it in manually.

Hivemind is in contact with ASUS, regarding that OC doesn't work with the KB4465065 microcode update and the 2E microcode. But you can use the 9001 BIOS he has received from ASUS, with the 2C microcode, and shared here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hTt...ew?usp=sharing

That fixes the issue which arose in september with the KB4100347 update. And everything else in the BIOS works perfectly as well.

Out of curiosity. If the 1903 BIOS you say you have received comes with the 2E microcode - does the OC then work, if you use it together with the KB4465065 update? If the 1903 BIOS is meant to fix the OC issues with the 2E microcode, maybe it actually requires that microcode to be installed in Windows, via the KB4465065 update.

2E also appears to be the latest microcode, according to Intel's documentation: https://www.intel.com/content/dam/ww...e-guidance.pdf

Could you possibly share the 1903 BIOS with the rest of us, via Google drive or something, that we might test it?

I did read somewhere Intel has started rolling out 31 micro code. Either MSI or EVGA has promised to update all of their X99 to latest micro code. Not sure about ASUS as well, they are clearly lacking behind.

    https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthrea...!!!!!!!/page11

and updated the BIOS with UBU from:
    https://www.win-raid.com/t154f16-Too...-quot-UBU.html
