Did anyone see that new AMD chipset for Crosshair VII?

77923

I was wondering if you were able to install it, because I was trying x times and I still only get error 1603 from AMD.

Need to mention that I am running Nvidia RTX2080 in my system Win10 (1809)

I know it´s not from Asus directly but it´s on our support page and web is full of that unfinnshed installation as I occured.

I tried AMD clean utility then fresh install and nothing happened. I can stay with older driver but as I said I was wondering... thank you

I emailed Asus Support when this screen appeared:
77924

The "new" version number of 17.12 is obviously wrong but support replied today "We have checked and that is the correct package". I haven't installed it and there is a later X470 chipset driver on the AMD site. Is that safe to install or indeed is there any reason to update?

No there is no reason to update but the whole thing is wierd because even driver fro AMD site is unable to install I tried them too. The new from AMD is 18.10 mine is 17.12 like yours.
The idea is, there is a new one but it´s unable to get it 😄

I use the one available for download from AMD, it has worked totally without problems on two different Windows 10 installs with the Prime X470-Pro. One is Windows 10 1809 Pro and the other is Windows 10 Insider Preview 18305. I have the new 4207-bios with Agesa 1.0.0.6.

If you aren’t having issues leave it be. The chipset driver is the very first thing that gets installed as soon as windows is done. *It doesn’t take well to being updated *and if you can get it to go it’s a crap shoot on whether or not it causes issues. *

I understand and I am ok with that, no need to change. But I just wanted some info about how that stuff works. You know I am old fan of AMD for many years and I´ve been always using AMD gpu + AMD chipset and AMD provide drivers as pack together, so no problem with them... But now combo AMD chipset + Nvidia is a little bit awkward.... Anyway thx.

PS: xeizo which version of chipset are u use now?

As I said, the one from AMD, it's called 18.10 as far as I remember. Everything works flawless.

Intel chipset drivers only really changes titles of devices, link.

The X470 chipset package (currently 18.10) on AMD's site is the latest and like gupsterg and others have mentioned, I always get the drivers directly from AMD.
Using that package on my CH7 and X470 Taichi. No worries.
