Z370-E and 4K game question.

Hi.

For most of you this will be a easy question.

I have a Corsair LPX Ram 2x8GB at 3200mhz CL16. I have it overclocked to 3400mhz CL 16. With more voltage up to 1.39v I don't get better results m

Will I benefit in 4K Gaming if I get a faster G.Skill with Samsung b.die? If it's 1 or 2 fps not worth it. If it's more...

8700K, 2080Ti, SSD 960 PRO.

Thank you

From my understanding, if you upgraded to "faster ram" it won't make a huge benefit across the board. it will litterally be 1 or 2 fps , if that.. also depending on the game. So if i were you, id stick with the ram you have, and invest it in something else.

Ok thank you for letting me know.

The rest of the computer is already good. Just trying to see if I have any bottleneck at 4K. But with the 2080 To Strix OC should be good.

For future proof as well, if I had to get a pair or ram sticks which one will be better for my board and config? 8700K, Z370-E, SSD 960 PRO.

Current Corsair LPX 3200mhz CL 16 (3400mhz CL 16 overclock).

Options:

G.Skill trident rgb 2x8gb 3200mhz cl14 .
G.Skill trident rgb 2x8gb 4000mhz cl17.

Ram with lower timing usually yields better performance in some situations, while in others a higher frequency might shell out a little higher performance, i would get the 4000mhz with cl17, and then slowly try to tighten the timings..

My minimum avg fps jumped 10% going from 3200 c14 to 4133 c17 with the app ("game") i use , so not trivial.

But it's up to you to determine if your app will benefit with faster mems. But! take caution, your cpu (imc) and mobo will both have to be in agreement on whether or not you can run faster memory than what you have now.

10% is actual a good jump. Specially since I'll pass from a 3400mhz at CL16.

The G.Skill 2x8gb at 4000 CL 17 is more expensive than the 3200 CL14, but since it's XMP should go straight ahead without issues (I hope).

The maximum MHz handles is 4000mhz. It should be fine then right?

i would buy 32GB kit instead, 16 GB is on the edge

This one is not in QVL of my motherboard z370E.

Is not 32gb for gaming too much?

Where do you find this list of QLV?

In Asus Support website not much luck.
