Any guides or advice for setting up a RAID 5 array on a Crosshair V Formula-Z as a primary/boot drive with 3 WD Black 3TB drives? I have run into the Windows 7 2TB limit issue. I thought I was good to go until after windows loaded and I verified. 4TB lost. My post on it:

I have a question regarding this guide.
Say I have 4 SSD's and I want the ones that I install my games to to run in RAID 0 BUT I want the one SSD that I have my OS on to be running as a regular SATA 6/GBs Drive. Is this possible with the RVE Motherboard??
So the disk would be setup like this:
Disk number Contents
1 Regular Sata Windows 10 OS
2,3+4 in RAID 0 Installed Games Disks
Thanks in advance and let me know if that isn't clear enough for what I'm trying to do.

Thanks for the RAID guide. I have an Asus x99 Deluxe MOBO. I'm having problems with my Raid 0. Periodically (randomly), one of my drives doesn't show in Bios and invalidates the raid. But rebooting, it'll come back, sometimes. Is this because one of the 3 raid drives is plugged into the Sata Express port? Which Sata Express ports can I use? Can I mix and them with regular 6gb and 3gb SATA ports?
I'm also about toe setup a second RAID 0 with 4 960gb SSD drives. Do they need to use all the same type of SATA port?
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello vanlazerus, welcome to the ROG forum.
For raid use only the intel sata ports, if you can connect all your drives to intel sata ports that's what I'd do. You can't run raid with the asmedia ports and you're not the first person I've seen mentioning about their drives disappearing when connected to an e-sata port.
Refer to your motherboard manual for the sata port layout.

half guide
found this to be useless, they leave out important parts , like install drivers with floppy , how , please, what is not even mentioned is the fact that you can only have raid with lintel ports .so if like my asus max v extreme , port 1 and 2 red can only provide raid , ports 3 threw 6 are asmedia which do not support raid .figure this to be important
