ASUS PG27UQ Fan noise. Any solution?

Hello guys, mine is normally turning off affter couple of minutes i guess 5min, yours is not switching off. Mine has normal noise, question is how the noise could grow after year 24/7, but you can still ask rma to change for a new one even for maybe some cash... but it´s just my idea...

EDIT: Mine is running with same rpm... maybe your fan is faulty

I am really glad to have found this post. I have been an owner of the PG27UQ since it was released in 06/2018. I have noticed a change of how the fan alternates rpms at different times, but the kicker in the last couple of days is me coming into the office after sleeping a whole night and the monitor fan IS STILL RUNNING. This does not seem right. It would have been at least 7-8 hours after shutting the whole system down. I am a diligent cleaner and am constantly dusting my system on a regular basis. I keep looking for any official word on this but have yet to find anything.

I love the monitor and hate to return it (I bought the 2 year extended warranty with Microcenter), but now, I really would like to know when the PG27UQX update model gets released and I would just make an exchange....as long as the fan control is fixed.

A bunch of these posts are a few months old and I would love an update from any of the other owners to what happened with them.

I have purchased a ProArt PA32UCX monitor and was absolutely shocked to hear that they have put a fan in it. The fact that the fan is on 24/7/365 even though the monitor is off is a sign that those that engineers that design their monitors have bats in their belfries.

Twenty email message with ASUS "tech support" provide little more than an ever growing list of "N" numbers associated with my issue, no less than three promises to "elevate" to 2nd level engineering that never came but at least I have the option of returning the monitor for my money back if I desire.

That being said, has anybody found a solution? I have a good mind to open it up and pop in a Noctua or similar quiet fan or some other cooling solution but, of course, there goes the three-year warranty if I chose to do so.

Are there disassembly instructions on how to pop the back off or otherwise get to the fan?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Thanks for that and, yes, it works when the computer is powered off. But the fact that ASUS engineers designed and built a $4,000 monitor without considering a passive cooling system or something as inexpensive a Noctua quiet fan is beyond me. I will never again look to ASUS for another monitor. If I had a good set of disassembly instructions or a service manual I'd be inside making the engineering change myself. I am very unhappy with my choice in monitors at this point.

I'm amazed Asus engineers were this stupid. No I don't want a $$$$ monitor to sound like I have a laptop running full tilt behind it. The monitor is by FAR the loudest thing in the room now...I didn't spend thousands building a silent PC to put up with this.

Maybe spend some time designing a giant passive heatsink instead of using all the time to implement hugely useless RGB lighting.

I got lucky. With my monitor, the firmware update to my PA32UCX silenced the fan completely whether the monitor is on or off.
