Mixed RAM for a ROG STRIX x470?

This may need a bit of background story, so please read and wait for it... 🙂

I started off with 4 sticks of 8GB modules, G-Skill, non QVL and could only get up to 2133 so i ran with that for a few months. Yes I could have messed with timings and such manually to maybe get better speed, but only tried so much... This was the state up to BIOS 4207. Suddenly I could select D.O.C.P and get 3200 speed. But not with all modules inserted. After some trial and error I realized one of the sticks was flawed (somehow) so I did an RMA. The RMA was accepted. So all should be good. No.

Turns out I had to RMA a PAIR since I bought 2 kits with pairs to begin with. The place I bought them don't have them anymore. Cant get replacment, only cash-back. So I lost 16GB in the RMA. Can't get the working stick back. Now I can't find the same RAM for sale again.

The RAM is G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 3200MHz CL14 (F4-3200C14D-16GVK).

Would other RAM with same timings work in the same system with my remaining sticks of above mentioned ram?

Ok, suspected as much... Thanks.

Gonna have to stick with 16GB or shell out about 350-400€ minimum for new stuff then.... Can I swear now?

i ran a mixed set of 2x8GB Kingston 2666 and 2x8GB Corsair 3000 @2933MHz, it's doable but risky of course. Now i run 4x8GB Corsair 3000 @3000 which is the rated speed, but those are also mixed as one pair is 21nm single rank and the other is 25nm dual rank. It can be done. The easy solution is of course to buy 2x16GB B-die, safe but at a price.

I purchased an open box kit of F4-3200C14Q-32GVK, one of the dimms is from another kit. As one of the dimms does not have consecutive serial numbers. I have owned the kit for over a year and used it on C6H/C7H/ZE. It actually performs better than a set of F4-3200C14Q-32GTZSW I also own and that has all consecutive serial numbers on dimms.

If your not gonna sell the F4-3200C14D-16GVK I'd opt for another kit of single rank/sided Samsung B die, it should work pretty well IMO. I'd aim for a G.Skill 3200MHz C14 kit of say Flare X/Trident Z if Ripjaws V aren't available. Perhaps you'll find a set of Ripjaws V on ebay, etc.
