Microcode VS performance is sometimes seen. With 109XX you run old microcodes and you may not even boot. Can you show some comparisons with something simple like CB23? Not to be a stick in the mud but talk is cheap.
I actually gained performance on 10980XE.

You take gains on your 10980XE with new cpu microcode???

The new microcode patch did not mean your CPU performance always lower than early microcode revision .

For example your prefer microcode 02000002E was not initial microcode of Skylake X SKUs mate.
My 7980XE and R6E BIOS 0801 initial with 0200002A microcode first date running indeed.

It was major patch against these errata list below. If you interesting why am I prefer recently microcode than stay with the old

The 02006C0A DATE 2021-06-16 was performance optimized revision from 02006B06 DATE 2021-03-19

Hello mate!!!!!!So im testing Cinebench R23 cinebench R15 and best Microcode for me on windows 11 latest version is 02000021 i test the new 02006C0A and is worrible on CB23 and CB15 so i take the oldest one!!!!!!!!
So offcourse on system32 i delete mcupdateintel.dll for forcing old cpu microcode
2A is not exist see all cpu microcodes on 50654

Could you showing everyone your benchmark results from CB 23 and CB 15 a bit ?

Many people here want to see marginal performance different that you have claim.

I'd like to see 02006C0A vs 02000021 VS 0200002E.

Actually yes I do. The original ran well, first couple of microcode updates didn't change performance but drove up temps. Then Temps dropped back and now a slight performance gain with the last modded R6EE BIOS. Much like you I found myself going back to older microcodes until I saw the temps go down. I ran the first set in the very first post of this thread for a very long time, trying newer then reverting back. Now Im running the latest.

Is there any good MC for the 10980XE? (Win10)
Because if I run CB R15 with 5GHz I get "only" around 4900 Points, which is kinda low.
In the Forum there is one, which can achieve 5050 Points with 5GHz on this CPU on the R6EE.
But doesnt want to say, which MC he has. Sooo.. yeah. Thats not that nice.
Also my 9980XE, was able to spit out easily over 5000 points with 5GHz.... hmmm :/

I can do the same with current microcode's by minimizing whats running in the background at 4.8 Ghz

Nice trick, but if I close more things which are running in the Background there wont even be the "exlporer.exe".
5000 Points with 4.8GHz is a nice value. But seems unrealistic. On windows 10 or 11?
