btw how have you managed to adjust your voltage in terms of adaptive/offset?
have you ever used this tool?

Hi,
No I do all edits in bios
4.5 I use auto core voltage it's not bad stays below 1.3v
I have also used
45 all core adaptive +0.001 & additional turbo 1.290 = 1.3v+-
4.6
Adaptive +0.001 & additional turbo 1.135 can't remember what the vid was on that though logic says 0.040 more than 4.5 produced.
47
Adaptive +0.040 & additional turbo +1.340 = 1.380v never really got this one real stable though.

i thought one should use negative offset for adaptive setting: the turbo target voltage for maximum voltage value and offset to something close to zero, am i getting it wrong?..i'm going to set all by hand as you suggested including RAM settings, turning xmp off. but now you say that you go with auto voltage and it's just fine.. should i at least try auto voltage setting after all? 4.5 with 1.3 is awesome!

Hi,
Notice I said core voltage auto not auto for vccsa/ vccio cpu/ or cache those are best set manually.
I switch to adaptive or even manual core voltage when auto isn't stable enough to use.

Hi,
As far as I know negative offset only works properly on x299 and maybe kabylake.. processors
x99 or at least mine won't even post on a negative sign only positive.Last edited by ThrashZone; 01-30-2019 at 09:08 PM.

also, I was looking for my RAM settings and found this thread:

please look at the suggested voltage values, I'm now confused again...

Hi,
Yeah a little off I believe but otherwise good
DDR4 memory can safely be set at 1.390v not only 1.350v matter of fact xmp profile that 1.35v it uses really is not hard set if the memory needs more xmp profile will give it more viewable with min/ max readings.
I use 1.390v mostly.
He did say 1.2v for both
But like I said system agent does not need that much 1.0 to 1.15v usually is enough it's something at some point may need adjustments between those two numbers.
There are 2 vccio voltages
vccio cpu
vccio pch fine set at 1.05v
Both are 1.05v standard voltages and will do fine set to that.
Only if pushing memory well past it's rated speed will one need more vccio cpu voltage added
But again do not exceed 1.2v as a maximum reading in hwinfo.
Memory oc'ing is not worth it really just sick with xmp profiles it usually works very well.

I’m still using the CPU I used to write that guide in my daily rig, and it’s switched on for 15-20 hours per day.
How long have you been running a Broadwell-E CPU? I should add the the CPU I have has spent most of the past 2.5 years overclocked within the confines cited in my guide and continues to be a reliable workhorse.
Please don’t make assumptions.Last edited by Raja@ASUS; 01-31-2019 at 08:34 AM.
