ME driver vs MEI driver

Hey all,

I'm a bit confused. I looked at the Rampage 6 Extreme and it has both and ME and MEI driver, separate versions.

Yet on the Rampage 6 Omega, they only have the MEI driver no ME drive to download.

I'm wondering if we need both and if not is one better or does it hurt to have both?

I'm trying to figure out what the differences are?

The MEI version on the Omega: Version 1815.12.0.2021

The MEI version on the R6E is: Version 1828.12.0.1152
The ME version is: Version 11.7.0.1057

They are the same. The ME is a mislabel. First one labeled MEI dated 2017/06/08 version 11.7.0.1014 and Second one label ME dated 2018/02/08 version 11.7.0.1057. If you look in the description they both say Intel(R) Management Engine Interface

The lastest ME Firmware for us was 11.11.60.1561


The lastest ME driver for us was 1828.12.0.1152

The ME firmware and ME driver was updating to protect Spectre and Meltdown issues. Some vulnerables impact on PCH and I/O devices.

Thanks for the answer. Still have no idea how Justin is getting his full speed of his 905P again. I'm happy for him but frustrated I can't achieve the same. 😞
