I've been checking out this graphics card online and was interested in advice/opinions if it'd be a good upgrade for me.

I would pick the RTX 2080 instead of the 2070. The former safely keeps you above 60 fps in 1440p. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qbz7VrsH-ik) and gives you almost 30% more CUDA-cores and streaming processors. It is a more well-balanced card for gaming in said resolution.
But, if you are not in a hurry, it might be worth seeing the benchmarks from Radeon 7 that is just days away. AMD is touting it is going to match the performance of 2080 but with a sticker price around the 2070.
