IT doesn't appear 15.7.1.1015 has specific driver only package. Intel previously always release the all in one package with driver plus console and a driver only which is usually labeled something like "Ff6flpy-x64.zip". You download, extract, and load it through device manager.
An example, the older but still usable 14.8.16.1063 Date: 10/22/2018 has the package here:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27400/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-User-Interf...The driver only package is also available at
www.asus.com... version 15.7.1.1015. The driver is stored in the "driver" folder then 64bit folder. Again it just loads in place of the standard microsoft driver via device manager. All you need to do is point the update tool at the folder location. Your motherboard and specific tested driver here:
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/MAXIMUS-VIII-HERO/HelpDesk_Download/As for the console it is delay start so doesn't affect boot. The driver consumes about 80MB of memory and the console, when open, 49MB. It has some valuable monitoring tools and the console for enable or disable link state power management. The driver itself improves cache performance of SATA drives especially using smaller file types. In some cases depending on UEFI settings it also enables hot swap functionality. I use NVME M.2 as my primary storage but do install the RST driver for usage with SSD and HDD backups and misc storage.
