Apparently this is caused by a bug, where the bios defaults the ram voltage to 1.2v - can read here:

Looks like it's been around for a while. Wonder if ASUS will fix it.Last edited by yeet342; 01-16-2020 at 05:55 PM.

I tried setting SoC voltage to 1.2v and SoC LLC to level 3, and this problem is solved for now. It is booting no problem for three days. I will update if there's anything.

Hi, I'd like to let everyone know that the problem is back now. I can't just boot my PC without trying turning it off and on and off and on again for about 20 times or so. When it successfully made it to BIOS, I pressed F5 to reset everything (Load Optimized Settings) and the issue is still there. Still stuck on white LED on most tries. When it finally made it to Windows after setting RAM speed to 3200MHz, I checked CPU-Z, and my RAM runs at 2133MHz

Thankfully, I only have to reset about 3x times before I boot. I've tried changing options, manually setting RAM timing, etc., but no dice. Either it's a hardware issue or the software is just bad.
My current plan to to wait for B550 boards to get released. Presumably they won't certify them if they can't even boot reliably, but you never know.
At that point, I'll buy one from ANY OTHER MANUFACTURER THAN ASUS, and say goodbye to the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I'll never have to use Google Captha on this awful forum ASUS doesn't read either. Great solution!
(Seriously, you have to enter a captcha every time you post? My god)

I wish I knew about this issue before buying. Is this something that has been on all bios versions, or recently introduced issue? Are ASUS aware of the issue, any fixes in the works? Really annoying dealing with this issue.
Forget about tweaking/overclocking anything also. 1 bad settings, you have to clear CMOS every dam time. Wish it would just fail POST and go to BIOS, like every other motherboard, but nope, black screen + clear CMOS every time.

This may or may not be related to your problem, I recently got a 3700x with the b450i motherboard.. In which the machine would have to have the entire power cycled with the PSU to boot back up with the xmp profiles.. This was completely fixed when I switched my FLK frequency from auto to half (1800mhz) of the xmp profile memory rated speed.. I have not had it hang at all since with boot ups.
