Do I need to install a driver for my Asus ROG gaming monitor?

I just purchased the ASUS ROG Swift PG278QR 27” 1440p 1ms 165Hz gaming monitor.

I set it up with the RTX 2080 and Gsync using Nvidia Control Panel. It seems to be running fine. However, is there a driver I need to download and install for the actual monitor? I downloaded and installed the latest graphics card driver from Nvidia. Just want to make sure I'm setting everything up correctly.

Thanks!

I ran my PG279Q without any driver for ages...then installed the driver...no change as far as I can tell...except now it's named correctly in device manger 😮

I've never manually installed any drivers for any of my three Asus monitors. I tend to leave Windows 10 to manage what it needs without you doing it manually.
Hell, the CD/DVD thing is still in the shipping box.

No, all ASUS monitors are plug and play.

Helpful thread. Actually I am using AOC Q2778VQE gaming monitor for the last 10 months but I am facing the issue. I recently install Call of duty lastest version but I am getting an error. I am a bit confused in recognizing that its a graphic card issue or AOC Q2778VQE driver issue. Is there anyone who are facing sme issue. Any help is appreciable.
