Maximus XI Hero: choosing a boot m.2 drive
Dear All,
I'm about to start my new build base on a Maximus XI Hero. As I will be installing to identical m.2 drives, how can I choose which one of the two I want to use as my windows boot drive? (I'd like to choose the one furthest from the CPU.
Kind Regards,
Karim

Should be in the manual. I don't have your board but typically the M.2 slots are enumerated just like SATA ports.*
Or just start with your boot drive installed and don't add the 2nd drive until later. That way you will be sure to install to the drive you want.
*Actually the port identifications should be printed on the PCB next to the slot so you really don't even need the manual.Last edited by xeromist; 02-12-2019 at 11:11 PM.
