Do you know why the 1603 Bios was removed from the R6E support? It was there since November 2018. Long ago I installed it and I have no problems:

It's gone about a week ago on other X299 boards as well, e.g. my own X299 Prime Deluxe.

It's a bit worrying this was done with no explanation, I'd like to know if I'm now left running a dodgy BIOS.

For me 1603 messed up Q-Fan....High Amp Fan Header especially was a mess so I went back to 1503 which still is worse with Q-Fan compared to 1301...Have not tested 1401 yet though.

There are other bug too
The setting of TJMax in the bios is not applied under Windows (same temperatures of cores whatever the TJMax)
Sorry for my english 😄

On the R6A with 1602 it's weird as well. I only tried a few TjMax settings. 60C in BIOS corresponded with 124C in Windows by looking at the CPUID info. However, 75C, 95C, 100C, and 105C appeared to be applied correctly. I tested 75C with load as well and my 7900X throttled at that set temp.

With the last microcode (110° by defaukt for Skylake -X)
105° in the bios indicates well 105° under Windows but the temperatures of the cores are the same ones as with the TJmax with 110°

The bug is here 🙂

What happens now for people with the 9900X CPU's. Do they have to go with the Omega.........

Keep your BIOS for the I9 9xxx X processor because the previous BIOS is not compatible And wait a bit to see if there is a future compatibility bios for 99xxX
