The OC...yeah, should be that simple...just check voltage and temps...maybe go up in steps

Might do it later today then. What program would you recommend to test the system stability overnight? And about voltages, will 1.3 be enough?

No idea on volts...each chip is it's own world...you'll just have to experiment...see what auto sets and try and reduce it.
Personally I'd use RealBench for an hour and call it a day...test with my daily use

Love it! I didn't touch anything........
I recently got back into, or should say trying to get back into gaming. I am just taking a break here, being retired and all, I tend to overwork myself.
Actually taking a break from my self induced insanity of trying to get my game to load and play for more than 5 mins.
But I am posting this just to say I am grateful for all the wisdom and support that can be found in these forums. I am learning much just from reading about other folks issues and mistakes. I know when I get grinding away on my PC trying to fix stuff, I often overlook the sometimes most simplest or basic things. For me, calming down and reading other related stuff often clears my head and allows me to see through all the fog I created in my own head.
Thank you all for being here to share you experiences, wisdom and suggestions to us who have yet to overcome such challenges before us.
Looking forward to conversing with some of ya'll in the future. In the mean time, I will try to not screw my stuff up, much.

I've overclocked it to 4.5GHz, and so far it seems like it's all good.
I've also noticed that my CPU has kinda lower voltage needs than the majority of other i5-6600k(s)? At 3.9GHz it needed only 1.120V. Rn that 4.5GHz is running at 1.300V (with 1.35V recommended).
Dunno what that means, but maybe I can squeeze 0.2 more GHz out of this chip without crossing the 1.4V line
