Maximus XI Extreme need help with bios

Well this was interesting tried to up the ram one more level up could not get into windows hit F5 in bios set it all back to default still could not get into windows no difference what I tried even clear cmos still no joy. I had to do a system restore point to get back into windows . Made it back into windows so now going to test this ram in default with Karhu RamTest if it fails then at least I know to RMA the ram as it has no xmp/ oc on it just now. If the ram fails my heart will sink but I am lucky as we do have another kit of this ram in the house for my husbands build and he still has a few parts to get yet.

Edit ... If it passes the test with Karhu RamTest is anything wrong with the settings below at all ? I just do not get what I am doing wrong :/ Sadly I have not tested the ram yet with Karhu RamTest with the settings below yet so not sure it would pass either .

Edit 2 ... If the ram passes then I will run sfc /scannow to be sure windows has zero issues still as well as I am not a fan of system restore at the best of times. I do know my windows had no issues yesterday so I have no idea why it would not boot into windows after I reset bios to default today as I checked all my bios settings more then a few times when this started .


XMP2 and on 4000MHz
Ram voltage is set to 1.45 v
Dram voltage is set to 1.3 v
CPU system Agent is set to 1.3 v
In DRam timing control its on Maximus tweek 2
ram timings set to 17,18,38
Dram command rate set to 2N

I would try relaxing the timings...18-18-18-38-2T or 18-19-19-38-2T with 4266mhz and XMP 1....as running that frequency does require a strong memory controller within the CPU especially while running all 4 slots populated with a quad kit....just something to think about....
May wanna test the board with just 2 sticks and see if acquiring 4266mhz is easier with XMP enabled.

Try Tweak 1 and lower the IO and SA voltages to 1.25v ...for the moment as higher voltages may also cause instability.

So do I it just passed the first hr @ 1442% no errors I think my brain needs a rest from this today and go play some BFV tonight, I will look at your settings tomorrow if my brain is not feeling on overload or in the next few days for sure. Thank you both for all the help.

Personally don't think your ram is the issue....most likely the IMC is not as strong as one would like...tweaking the memory will most likely work

You would think or I would a i9-9900k would be but ya you never know :/ I hope I can get it to 4266

OK @PhillyFlyer trying this made it to desktop now testing ram with Karhu RamTest fingers crossed Dang 13 min in test got error :/
