ROG Maximus XI Extreme BIOS parameters

Hello everyone,

Have a few questions about certain BIOS parameters. Use this board with BIOS 0805. Run an i9 9900k @ 5GHz all cores, stable at 1.225V and Prime95 29.6 build 2 all runs without AVX, AVX2. Temperature technically I lie at 4K FFT size @ 16 threads at a good 94 ° C maximum.

So:

  • Under DRAM Timing Control -> "Trace Centering" selection = Enabled / Disabled, what exactly does it do?

  • Under DRAM Timing Control -> "Maximus Tweak" selection = Mode 1/2, what does this do?

  • Under Extreme Tweaker -> Internal CPU Power Management -> "IA AC Load Line", how do you set this for OC ideally?

  • Under Extreme Tweaker -> Internal CPU Power Management -> "IA DC Load Line", how do you ideally set this for OC?

  • Under Extreme Tweaker -> Internal CPU Power Management -> "TVB Voltage Optimizations" selection = Enabled / Disabled, do I need this for OC?

  • Under Extreme Tweaker -> "Ring Down Bin" selection = Enabled / Disabled, what does it do?

  • Under Advanced -> Platform Misc Configuration -> "PCI Express Clock Gating" selection = on / off, what exactly does it do?

  • And under Extreme Tweaker -> "Xtreme Tweaking" selection = Enabled / Disabled, what exactly does it do?

Thanks for the answers.
Kind regards

IA AC/IA DC Load Line is useful when using adaptive vcore adjustments prevents highs and lows volts in the override by the Intel VID control does not affect manual voltage adjustments best setting with adaptive volts is 0.01. Maximus Tweak is for memory sub timings mostly left on auto unless you want to take a deep dive into memory OC. TVB is for under volting when the chip runs cool, kinda pointless for OC since that tends to run hot perhaps useful for stock or direct-die cooling. Ring Bin Down from what I remember is causing instability at higher speeds. PCI Clock Gating is for syncing gates inside your GPU never tried it though but I should. Xtreme Tweaking is for benchmarking as it only squeezed a bit more mhz out of your PC if you manual OC leave it off.

I found this PDF ROG Maximus Hero [wifi] BIOS manual that you can possibly get the info you want.
https://images-eu.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/C1spIFYcHzS.pdf

To download right click the link in Chrome and choose "Save link as..."
or if you click the link and it opens in your browser you can choose to save as PDF in the menu.

@Loadlineac

To update and for the benefit of others including the OP, there is a BIOS user maanual for our Maximus XI Extreme at the drivers/BIOS download support webpage here:

https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/ROG_MAXIMUS_XI_EXTREME/E14983_ROG_MAXIMUS_XI_EXTREME_B...

It's reasonably detailed so I hope it helps.
