My battery indicator on my GL702VS was totally off today, 100% yesterday when i turned it off but only 27% today when i turned it on and it did not charge. So right now i am trying to calibrate the battery by:
- performance power plan
- change plan settings to never shut off and critical battery 1%
- running it without charger until it shuts off
It lasted a few hours on 27% which it shouldn't, charging it right now i will see if it goes to 100% when it's done charging.
Battery wear level is 8% according to hwmonitor.
Have any of you with battery problems tried draining it until it shuts off then a full recharge?

Looks like calibrating the battery did the trick, 93% and 9 minutes to full charge.

Guys any update on this problem?
I have a feeling that this is caused by the "Asus Battery Health" feature that limits the battery charge to 60% or 80%.
I previously owned the GL504GM and ran into the same issue and used that feature, now on my GL504GW, also face the same issue.

Hi again,
After taking my GL504GM the first time to repair in March 2019 (bought it in December 2018), they changed MB, battery and fans but the problem still persisted.
This January I took it back with the same battery problem and right vent going crazy, they haven't touch anything because for them, after my factory reset, the problem was not present, even if I gave them video of the issue.Report says the battery life is at 92%.
Just this afternoon, battery from 100 to 62% browsing websites alone, I turned it off and turn it on again now: when I boot it up, after login it dies reporting 0% battery. I plug it in an turn it on immediately, still dies even if plugged in. Turn it on again and it remains alive.
This is outrageous: I had to pay a lot of money for this laptop because now all the brands must give you "gaming" laptops with Christmas lights for half a kidney, and this is the result. I was so happy with the N551JM, with a dedicated graphic card and a professional look, without RGB lights and trash "gaming" software, and I paid it only 900 bucks.
Asus and MSI alike, you are only making products for professional gamers and youtubers, that can pay 3k for a Zephyrus in a blink of an eye.
Gives us back sturdy and powerful products like the N551 series. You are killing gaming enthusiasts who want to keep enjoying their hobby after a stressful and tiring day of work, that can barely suffice to pay bills and food.
