Which board to choose for 9900k

Hi everyone.

I have a fairly simple question with a presumably bit harder answer.

I am putting together a new rig for my brother. His processor is I9 9900k. It will be overclocked to 5.0 or5.1 Ghz and colled by EKWB costum water loop.
Now I wonder which board is better choise:
MAXIMUS X CODE (Z370)
Or
MAXIMUS XI HERO WI-FI (Z390)
Point is we can get both boards for same price but I kinda don’t know for which one to go, both have all slots and expansion that we need.

As you say both boards will work with the 9900k but......

I would choose a Maximus 10 board for the 8th generation cpu's and choose a Maximus XI board for the 9th generation cpu's.

I am leaning towords that as vell...so for 9900k XI hero shall be optimal. There was alot of talk about it having strange VRM config...but for normal oveclock does it metter at all ?
