Rampage VI Corsair DOMINATOR needs 1.42 V to be stable
Hello All,
I am back on here again with my issues. So I bought a delidded 7900x and a Gigabyte board recently on fleabay. The gigabyte board got bricked when I tried to change the BIOS on on chip and then, well, its gone for an RMA. I bought a RVIE from amazon(Amazon Warehouse - used nearly new).
My issue: Currently, I need to set 1.42V on my corsair dominator 3000 MHz 64GB with SA and VCCIO all set in auto. The more voltage I supply to the RAM the more stable it seems on Intel Burn Test. Please be aware that I was using these RAM chips on my Rampage V Extreme with 5960x which seemed to suffer from IMC degrdation. Is my memory failing or is it the IMC in the 7900x and 5960x which is degrading?
The DOMINATOR is XMP rated at 15-17-17-35-1T at 1.35 V
Thanks,
G.Last edited by KOGE19; 03-19-2019 at 10:19 AM.

OK, but when you go into BIOS, what is the reading for VCCSA...the actual voltage the board is setting...you could try tuning that a bit
What vintage is the kit...I ask because kits are tailored somewhat to the platform they came out with...Last edited by Arne Saknussemm; 03-20-2019 at 02:04 PM.

Ok. Some good news - Finally!
I have it stable on BIOS 1503 - BIOS 1704 is UNSTABLE(it will allow memory to overclock etc, but will switch off the board on full load on IBT, at a time it decides)
With BIOS 1503 I get 87 C on IBT at speed of 45x. The dominator works fine at 1.35 V on the XMP timings or otherwise
CPU Ratio : 45x
AVX/AVX-512 : 0 (Basically the same speed as the CPU)
CPU voltage (Manual) : 1.175 (It could go lower possibly, no plans to check).
Uncore : 0.015
Cache : 0.930
Cache speed : 28
LLC: Level 6
IBT GFLOPS : 263
CPU is delidded. Temps hit 70 C if I drop the AVX /AVX-512 to 5 - basically get AVX to run at 4.0 GHZ and non AVX work loads at 4.5
Are my results ok now?
Cheers,
G.
