No, this is not a generic and random BSOD while doing things (gaming etc.): it's a specific case of BSOD when entering sleep+hibernation due to idle timeout.
It's been reported and acknowledged also by NVidia: https://forums.geforce.com/default/t...ion-on-laptop/

Many users don't ever change Windows default settings and usually shutdown when they finish their work, so didn't ever noticed this, but it's a real issue of newer 418-419 family drivers, at least on gaming laptops with 1070 and for those who use sleep and hibernation features.

"We do not have this notebook in our offices but our partner Asus has been able to reproduce this issue. We provided Asus with our most recent internal driver to test and they are not able to reproduce it anymore. We are still trying to isolate the root cause but there is a possibility that our next driver may already have an unknown fix for this issue."

    Because it's a nonsense.
This is a new bug acknowledged by NVidia/ASUS with recent NVidia drivers and needs a real fix, not some "golden path workarounds"... Previous drivers did not need special workarounds and are not supposed to. Let's wait for a real fix.
