I think most of the non ROG laptops will be affected since those ones usually have the Updater tool installed since its kinda like bloatware, and usually never works properly.

I assume if you built a desktop PC and install driver updates manually from the ASUS website, that you are not affected because the Updater Tool comes installed on laptops for automatic updating?

Yeah. It's just the ASUS branded desktops and laptops, I'm pretty sure most of the ROG community always does just a fresh install of windows.
