Question on Build of ROG RAMPAGE VI EXTREME OMEGA

Hi Guys,

I'm in the process of buying all parts required for the new build.

I was wondering if I can complete a build now and in a few months can come back and install 2 M.2 Drives to the motherboard behind the fancy Asus cooling panel, between PCIE sockets.

With a MSI RTX 2080TI EK graphics card installed can you still remove the panel and add more M.2 drives?

Thanks

Hi Counteragent,*
On the R6e you have to release the pcie lock ( allowing the card to come forward slightly) then you can slide the over out,
I believe the Omega is the same situation but I’m sure someone more in the know will confirm that.
It is easier if you take the gpu out though.:)*

You need to remove the entire cover plate. Which is affixed via 4 screws. If you have a graphics card it will need to be removed before you can do this as the heatsink is part of the entire plate ( heatsink ). This is different than some other boards where we have an individual heatsink. For ease of use I would use the DIMM.2 ( dual M.2 ) slots which are on the board. They get direct intake airflow and are easier to mount / install.
